Pork Dim Sum

Once i went my mama's place she has made these pork dim sums for me. when I asked her how to make them, she gave me this recipe. I tried it out. It was marvelous It took me only few minutes to make them. and i could make delicious dim sums. This is the recipe. Try it out...

30 dumplings


  • 450G (12oz) minced pork
  • •115g (4oz) raw shelled prawns, ground
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornflour ( cornstarch)
  • 30 wonton skins
  • Fresh or frozen green peas or chopped hard-cooked egg yolks for garnish

Pork Dim Sum


  1. To make filling: Mix together ground pork, ground prawns, soy sauce, rice wine or sherry, sesame oil, sugar, pepper and egg white until mixture is well blended and smooth. Stir in cornflour. Divide in to 30 portions. cut off the edges of wonton skins to form circles, if necessary. Place 1 portion of filling in the middle of a wonton skin. Gather the edges of the wonton skin around the meat filling. Dip a teaspoon in water and use to smooth the surface of the meat.

  2. Garnish by placing a green pea or chopped egg yolk on top of meat. Gather the edges to form a waist. Repeat with remaining wonton skins and meat filling. Line a steamer with a damp cloth; steam over high heat 5 minutes. Remove and serve.
